Celebrating & Entertaining Without Disposables
Thursday, November 29th @ 7:00pm
The holidays can be an overwhelming time for many, especially those with large families. In our consumer driven society it can seem next to impossible to avoid excessive plastic decorations, packaging and waste, not to mention the cost of it all. It doesn’t have to be this way!
This presentation will focus on prioritizing experiences over things, enjoyment and memories over consumption. We will take a look at a few traditional and natural ways of decorating the home for the season, choosing gifts that create lasting memories, engaging with shared resources that keep the budget in check. Participants will have a chance to try their hand at traditional Japanese Furoshiki gift-wrapping, making their own ornaments and scented bath salts as well as receive a list of several other DIY decoration and gift ideas.
Limited seating. Must register in advance. $30 each. Visit EventBrite to register on line or save the $1.60 EventBrite fee by purchasing your ticket in store or by phone 250-385-6829.
All participants receive a 10% discount off purchases made an hour before or the hour following the workshop.
